Cookie Policy

Which cookies and tracking technologies this website uses — Microsoft Clarity and the Meta pixel — what each one records, and how to stop them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. This policy also covers technologies that work like cookies — browser storage, tracking pixels and session-recording scripts — because they raise the same questions about what is recorded and by whom. Where we say “cookies” below, we mean all of them.

What we use, and what each one does

  • Essential — a small amount of browser storage that the site needs to work: it remembers the page you arrived on and how you reached us, so that when you send a demo enquiry we know which page to credit. It is cleared when you close the tab, and it holds no name, no contact details and no identifier that can be used to recognise you on a later visit.
  • Microsoft Clarity — analytics and session recording — we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is actually used. Clarity sets its own cookies and records a playback of your visit: pages viewed, mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and taps, plus your approximate location (from your IP address), device, browser and referring site. It also builds heatmaps of where visitors click and how far they scroll. We use it to find pages that confuse people and forms people abandon. Clarity masks text typed into form fields by default, so what you type into an enquiry form is not captured in the recording, and Microsoft processes this data as our provider under its own privacy statement.
  • Meta pixel — advertising — we use the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram). It is a marketing technology, and it is the one most people want to know about. It tells Meta that a browser visited this site, which pages it viewed, when a WhatsApp, email or phone link was tapped, and when a demo enquiry form was opened, started or submitted. It does not send Meta the contents of the form. Meta uses this to measure our advertising and to show our ads to people who have visited the site, and Meta may match the visit to a Facebook or Instagram account. Meta is a separate controller for what it does with the data — see its privacy policy.
  • What we do not use — no Google Analytics, no Google Ads tracking, no advertising network other than Meta, and no cookies set by anyone we have not named on this page. We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers.

Where this data goes, and for how long

Microsoft and Meta are both US-headquartered and process this data outside the UK, under the transfer safeguards described in our Privacy Policy. Clarity keeps session recordings and heatmap data for up to 13 months. Retention of what Meta holds is governed by Meta's own policy, not ours. The essential storage described above lasts only as long as your browser tab is open.

How to turn this off

Microsoft Clarity and the Meta pixel load when you open a page on this site. The bar shown on your first visit is a notice, not a choice: it tells you they are running and links here. Blocking either one is done in your browser, and none of the controls below affects your use of the site — every page, form and lesson works the same either way.

To stop them:

  • In your browser — block or delete third-party cookies for this site, or use private browsing. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all offer this in their privacy settings.
  • With a tracker blocker — any standard content or tracker blocker, or a browser with tracking protection switched on, stops both Clarity and the Meta pixel from loading. Sending a Global Privacy Control signal also works.
  • For Meta specifically — you can limit how Meta uses off-Facebook activity in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
  • By asking us — email admin@tutormint.uk and we will ask Microsoft and Meta to delete the data associated with your visit, and confirm when it is done.
