Who we are

Tutormint (“we”, “us”) provides one-to-one online tutoring for UK students. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights. The data controller is Tutormint Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17423332. Contact: admin@tutormint.uk.

What we collect

When you enquire or book a demo class we collect: parent/guardian name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address (if provided), your child's school year/level, subject needs, and any information you share about their learning. During tutoring we hold lesson notes and progress records. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children: all accounts, bookings and communications are with parents or guardians.

We also collect information about how this website is used, through two third-party tools that load when you open a page here. Microsoft Clarity records a playback of your visit — pages viewed, scrolling, clicks and taps, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser — and builds heatmaps from it, so we can see which pages confuse people. The Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) records that a browser visited the site, which pages it saw, and when a contact link or an enquiry form was used, so we can measure our advertising and show ads to people who have visited. Neither tool receives what you type into an enquiry form. Alongside them we store, for the length of your browsing session only, the page you arrived on and how you reached us, so an enquiry can be credited to the page that earned it. Our Cookie Policy sets out exactly what each tool does and how to switch it off.

Why we use it (lawful bases)

To respond to enquiries and arrange lessons (performance of a contract / steps prior to a contract); to send lesson updates and service messages (legitimate interests); to improve our services and website (legitimate interests); to meet legal obligations. We only send marketing messages with your consent, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP or emailing us. The analytics and advertising tools described above load on every visit, and the bar shown on your first visit is a notice telling you so. You can stop either of them with your browser's privacy settings or a tracker blocker — our Cookie Policy explains how — and you can ask us to delete what has already been recorded about your visit by emailing us.

Children's data

We process limited information about children (name/first name, school year, subject progress) strictly to deliver tutoring, always under the authority of a parent or guardian. Lessons take place on Google Meet; parents may join any lesson at any time.

Who we share it with

Your child's matched tutor (name, level, learning needs only); and the service providers we use to operate, each under their own safeguards — Google (Meet, Workspace), WhatsApp/Meta (messaging), our website host, Microsoft (Clarity website analytics) and Meta (the advertising pixel). Meta decides for itself how it uses what the pixel sends, so for that data it is a separate controller rather than our provider. We never sell personal data and we do not share it with data brokers.

International transfers

Some of our team and tutors are located outside the UK. Where personal data is accessed from outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum and providers' standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data that doesn't become a booking: up to 12 months. Client and lesson records: for the duration of tutoring plus 24 months, unless law requires longer. Microsoft Clarity session recordings and heatmap data: up to 13 months. What Meta holds from the pixel is kept under Meta's own retention policy. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see rights below).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing. Contact admin@tutormint.uk — we respond within one month. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use Microsoft Clarity for website analytics and session recording, and the Meta pixel for advertising. We do not use Google Analytics or any other advertising network. Our Cookie Policy sets out what each one records, where the data goes, how long it is kept, and how to switch it off.

Changes

We may update this policy; the latest version is always on this page. Last updated: 28-08-2026.
