How Our Online Tutoring Works
Getting started with Tutormint is straightforward. We do the matching work so you do not have to — and your child's first session is free.
Six steps from first contact to better results

Tell us your child's year group, subject and goal
We start by understanding your child, not by selling you a package. Share their year group, the subject they need support with, and what they are working towards — whether that is building confidence in KS3 Maths, preparing for GCSE Science, revising for A-Level exams, or getting ready for the 11+. The more you tell us, the better the match we can make.
Book a free demo class
Once we have your child's details, we arrange a free 30-minute demo lesson with a tutor suited to their needs. There is no charge for the demo and no obligation to continue. It is a real session — not a trial presentation or a sales call.
Attend the demo online
Your child joins the lesson from home using any device with a camera and internet connection. The tutor leads a structured session, assesses where your child currently is, works through a topic together, and identifies the areas that need the most attention.
Get matched with a suitable tutor
After the demo, we recommend a tutor based on your child's subject, level, exam board, and learning style. We take this matching seriously. The same tutor works with your child session after session — consistency is part of what makes one-to-one tutoring effective.
Start regular one-to-one lessons
Regular lessons are scheduled around school, homework, and family life. Each session is planned around your child's current progress — not a fixed syllabus. If they have an exam coming up, we focus there. If they need to rebuild fundamentals, we go back and fill the gaps properly.
Receive progress updates
You will not be left wondering how your child is getting on. Parents receive regular updates covering what was covered in each session, where your child is improving, and what needs more practice. If something is not working, we adjust.
